On Thursday, April 12th, a group from Newsome travelled to the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center for the Hillsborough County PTSA Awards. Ms. Bruning and Mr. Sandfrey also made the hour long trip. Our PTSA won the following certificates and awards:
Certificate awards include: Golden Membership(participation in local training programs provided by Hillsborough County PTSA), Increased Membership, Student Involvement and Volunteer Hours.
Judged Award winners include: Family Involvement Award: Standing Tall with Quinton Aaron (Anti-bullying campaign)
Communications Award: Thanks to Liza Grimm for all her hard work on the Newsletter, Facebook and other communications. By the way, Randall won this award for middle schools also, where she is the Communications Chair!
Education Award: An Evening with Guidance. Mr. Sandfrey’s presentation on class choice, academic rigor, HCC vs. AP vs. virtual school were discussed at this program.
