Newsome High School PTSA has invited NOPE Task Force to present a Parent focused presentation on March 2nd , 6:30 pm at Newsome High School Auditorium.

- Every 4 minutes a person in our country dies from substance abuse.
- One in three households has someone behind its doors struggling with the disease called addiction.
- In 2015, 179 people in Hillsborough County died from accidental overdose death.
- After marijuana and alcohol, prescription drugs are the most commonly abused substances by Americans age 14 and older.
Drug prevention is a community issue. We all have read reports about the vast drug use in our local area and in our county’s schools. This 50 minute program by NOPE of Hillsborough will inform you about the reality our community faces regarding substance abuse and overdose death and will provide you with parenting strategies and suggestions to combat this issue. NOPE Task Force is doing programs geared for students throughout the county during school hours. This is a special parent presentation to compliment the student one. All community members are welcome to attend.
