Newsome’s guidance department needs our help!  During AP exams, a lot of teachers and pretty much all of our guidance counselors are pulled from their regular duties to proctor exams. The Newsome PTSA began a program last year to help recognize Student PTSA Members. Each Quarter, a drawing will be done to select 8 to 10 members to receive a special gift. JROTC March Update

February was an outstanding month for the Newsome Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) Wolfpack Battalion. The Cadets have been extremely busy participating in numerous team competitions, finishing up their company led Service Learning Projects and conducting their Military Ball. The Battalion’s six special teams continue to practice, compete, and bring home trophies. Newsome Boys Varsity Lacrosse 2017

The Newsome Boys Varsity Lacrosse kicked off their season on a high note, remaining undefeated with their 7-0 winning streak. The highlights have undoubtedly been their 13-7 victory over Plant, and their nail biting 11-10 win over Steinbrenner.  Senior Night is at 6:30pm on March 28 so we encourage everyone to come and support the team on their home turf against Wharton. Newsome High School Band Student Marches in the U.S. Army All American Bowl Half-Time Show

By: Jennifer Southerland On January 7, 2017, Senior Newsome Band Member, Megan Wright, marched in the U.S. Army All American Bowl half-time show. The Fall 2016 Newsome Wolfpack Band Drum Major was one of only 125 high school students across the nation chosen to participate in this honorary band. Students are not only selected for their musical talent, but also for their demonstrated mental and physical toughness, their ability to work well with a team and adapt to challenging situations. 2017 Courtyard Tiles Project Includes Memorial to Beloved Student

The 2017 engraved tiles have been installed in the courtyard on the planter walls near the flagpole. We would like to thank everyone who participated in our courtyard tile project and send special thanks to Ray Sellers with Complete Care Pool Service & Repair for volunteering his time and materials too install the tiles. This year’s project is bittersweet as the PTSA chose to include a tile in memory of Newsome High School Senior, Jake Kalicki.
